HOW TO MEASURE

Choose Your Method

There are several ways to estimate your ring size at home. For the best result, take more than one measurement and compare your results.

01

Measure an Existing Ring

The easiest method when you already own a ring that fits correctly.

Choose a ring that fits the exact finger and hand you are shopping for. Print our sizing guide at 100% scale and place your ring over the sizing circles.

Find the circle that most closely matches the inside edge of your ring.

BEST FOR Measuring your own size when you already have a properly fitting ring.
02

Use Our Printable Sizer

No existing ring? Use the finger sizer included in our PDF.

Print the guide at actual size, cut out the sizing strip, and carefully cut the marked slit.

Insert the pointed end through the slit and wrap the strip comfortably around your finger. The indicated number will give you your approximate US ring size.

IMPORTANT The sizer should feel secure and snug without squeezing your finger.
03

Measure Your Finger

You can also estimate your size using the circumference of your finger.

Wrap a narrow strip of paper or nonstretch string around the base of your finger. Mark the point where the ends meet.

Measure the length in millimeters and compare your measurement with the chart below.

REMEMBER Do not pull the paper or string excessively tight.

Ring measurements can vary slightly between sizing systems and manufacturers. For custom jewelry, wide bands, or valuable rings, professional sizing is recommended.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Ring Sizing
Tips

Even a fraction of a size can make a noticeable difference. Keep these details in mind before choosing your final fit.

01

Measure the Correct Hand

The same finger can differ slightly between your left and right hand. Always measure the exact hand where the ring will be worn.

02

Consider Band Width

Wider bands generally feel tighter than thinner bands. Depending on the design, a slightly larger size may provide a more comfortable fit.

03

Measure at a Normal Temperature

Fingers can temporarily expand in heat and shrink in cold conditions. Measure when your hands are comfortable and at a normal temperature.

04

Measure More Than Once

Finger size can fluctuate throughout the day. Take several measurements and look for a consistent result before choosing your size.

05

Account for Your Knuckle

Your ring needs to pass over the knuckle while still fitting comfortably at the base of your finger. If your knuckle is noticeably larger, consider both measurements.

06

Think About the Ring Design

Certain ring styles may fit differently depending on the width, profile, and construction of the band. Professional sizing can help account for these differences.
